In 2020, my partner and I bought a home together in Portland, OR and taught ourselves everything there is to know about Home DIY. We took on an immense challenge of fully remodeling two floors in our home - I’m talking kitchen, baths, bedrooms, common areas, outdoor space, fireplaces, and more. Basically, we had no idea what we were doing and we were forced to figure it out along the way. It was sink (our finances) or swim.

Through the help of amazing creators on YouTube - we taught ourselves everything. We learned how to be architects, general contractors, tilers, framers, electricians, drywallers, woodworkers, and more.

I learned so much about perseverance, patience, and the true meaning of “getting my hands dirty” every single day. While this project challenged us more than we could have ever expected, I think we walked away stronger than ever and I wake up every day feeling so lucky to have the partner that I do and an income property to boot!
